In a previous ‘You and your Body‘ post, I talked about infinite being and the body having consciousness. If the body has its own consciousness, are you communicating and collaborating with your body or are you in conflict with it?
I am making the assumption, that most of you grew up with similar messages as I did. One has to eat the right foods, the right amounts, at the right time, do the right exercises, add the right supplements, etc. The question I am asking today, is this what we or our bodies want or did someone else decide this for us? Many religious beliefs tell you one way or another to ignore the body, that it is a handicap, if not liability, for getting into heaven. Yet, how could an infinite being be here on earth without a body? So, is the body not a great and marvelous creation? Would that not mean we cherish it, communicate with it?
As I said in my previous post, I have begun to communicate with my body (still not as consistant as I would like). Slowly, I am learning how my body communicates with me. The biggest change is the appreciation I have for my body and all the things it does for me. Actually, I feel gratitude. Interestingly, my body is changing: the way it moves, the way I dress, the way I look, what I eat.
What if, instead of making the usual New Years resolutions that have to do with your body, you decide to communicate with it, to touch it and have it touched. When you talk with your body, “listen” to the very first thing that pops into your mind, sometimes even before you have finished mentally asking the question. Thoughts travel faster than words, so your body got the meaning before you finished the sentence and gave you the answer right away. It will appreciate you attempting to communicate with it.
Play with it, take it easy and have fun.
With the best wishes for the New Year!
