The world is in a transition and I feel that Climate Change is an initiation for humanity. No matter what, if we do not accomplish the ending, there is no transition or the initiation is failed. So let's have a look at what is ending or has to end because it is not working. This brings up so may questions - where do I start?
OK, let's start with government. Are our governments working?
Are they working for all the people or just some?
If not, what is not working?
What do we need to let go of? Any beliefs, assumptions? Would we need to change rules?
Financial systems: Are they working?
Are they working for everyone?
What might need to change?
Health: There are many different models in the world. Which ones are working? Which ones are not?
What would need to change for them to work for all people, not just select groups?
Relationship: With almost half of the marriages ending in divorce, is the ideal of a marriage working?
What might be the reasons for the high percentage of divorce?
Communication: Are we truly able to talk with each other?
Is there a need to be right?
What impact do smart phones and polarity have on communication?
Earth: Do most people take care of the earth?
Is consuming necessary?
How many of the green technologies do truly have a lesser or not much of an ecological footprint?
When we talk about greenhouse gases, emissions, are we talking just about the gases or do we include the particles?
We have a foundational story that underlies everything. This story is the Story of Separation. We are separate from Nature and each other, actually even ourselves.Would you go back and look at the questions above through the lens of separation? Can you perceive that story? In some areas it is glaringly obvious, in others it is subtle. Climate change is the result of our separation from nature, the earth. This story needs to end and be replaced by a new one; one that is more inclusive of all.
Currently, I am taking a course with the Pachamama Alliance. There are many links to interesting articles. One gave me the following question: What would happen if we could make peace with the fact that we may not survive this mass extinction? Would that open up possibilities that we are not looking at because we are fighting against our extinction? Our extinction will be a fact if we fail to act. I am at peace with it. Are you?
We can not go through a transition if we are not willing to let go, to end what is not working. How much seemed to work while not really working for most people? It was tolerable, not too painful. Now it has become painful and we have to deal with the consequences. What will we choose?
