A New Year, a new me?

How many New Year’s resolution have I made in my life? Too many to remember. How many have a kept or fulfilled? I’d say very few. It’s something I did because one did it. How much staying power does that provide? One could say I could have been more realistic. If I look around, realism is not something that goes with New Year, it is rather optimism that does that.

The decision to change, on the other hand, can be made any day of the year. I have done it and started something new that is still going; I might even say getting better with time as I become more comfortable and experienced doing it. For some reason, I have the sense that 2016 is going to be quite different, not only for me and NOW is becoming the invitation to look at what I would like to create, what future I would like to create for myself while also being aware of how this could impact others and the planet.

What new possibilities can I perceive? What new thoughts can I think? In which new ways can I look at something? These are questions I am sitting with and that are important to me when I consider Einstein’s statement that a problem can not be solved from the same level of consciousness it was created. – not that I consider anything a problem, rather some things work, others don’t. For me the statement also applies to changing things. My aim is to apply these questions every month to a different area in life and to write about what I am finding out for myself. May be those musings will be food for thought for the reader or even start a rich conversation.

The first workshop I will be teaching this year is about our belief systems around money, so money will be the theme for January. I am curious as to what I will create; a blog post, a graphic, just a few sentences. Let’s find out.
