Creating Additional Streams of Income

Having some extra money is nice. Residual income is even better. So how does one get there? One way is to create additional streams of income. Since the beginning of this year, I have been playing with three.

Quite some time ago, a friend told me about an app for my phone with which I could edit my images. I had some fun and that was it. A year later, I was bored and decided to play with the app and, lo and behold, they had improved it. Now it became fun. And soon, at the end of ’16 I got 2 more apps to play with. Each one of them works differently and, as a result, creates different distortions of an image. I have been using these images to go with quotes in my Facebook posts. The question kept coming up: What else can I do with them? Sell them? Why not. I got a domain name and created a new website. And no, I am not a programmer. I am totally self-taught. With all the tools that are available today, it is not much of a problem anymore. Check out the site and enjoy the pictures. Allow yourself to be drawn in.

While I was still working on that website, I got an email with an invitation to join a company that produces clothing. Someone for the company has come across images of mine and liked them.  Now there was excitement and, as usual, I wanted to know who they were, what they did and how the whole thing might work. I did some research and decided to join them. First, I wanted to finish the site with the images. While doing it, I already kept my eyes open for this next adventure. Once the site was finished, at least for now, I dove into finding out how this designing worked and what was required. In and of itself, it is relatively easy. So I selected images and quickly found out that, as much I like the image, it does not necessarily look good as a shirt. There were a lot of shirts I designed, that, in the end, I deleted again. I was intending to create an unusual look that had elegance. After some trial and error, I have a nice selection of shirts, scarves, and bags. Check them out!

At the same time, I have begun to build a business with an incredible company that sells skin care products. Talk about unique, restorative skin care. Boy, my skin looks so different after using the product for a month. The technology comes out of medical research that received grant money to develop a carrier base for antibiotics and other meds for the use in hospitals. You know what gets me really excited about this? The compensation plans are incredibly good and this is one where I know I will have residual income.

What’s my purpose of telling all this? On the one hand, I would like to give you the energy of excitement I feel. On the other, I wanted to tell you that 6 months ago, I would not have thought I would be doing this. I started the skin care in November. Having made that choice, other possibilities became available. It’s not linear. I would have never in my life thought I would put my images on clothing. Not until the invitation to do so came and I got all excited about it. Even if I do not sell a single piece, I had a ton of fun doing it. And what will be created through the excitement I experience. Interestingly, on another website where I offer some of my stuff for sale, I had my first sale. What else is possible, is a question I often ask. As I get more into having fun in life, enjoying life, things will appear that will contribute to me. That contribution can be having money. It’s not that joy follows money, rather money follows joy. This is something I talk about in the money classes I facilitate.

What is it you would have fun creating that also could bring in some extra money? What are you good at that you may not value as being unique.  I get it. I have been there. Slowly I am able to see that I have a unique way with images that can be utilized in all kinds of ways. Go for it. Have fun creating and making extra money!
